Medicare Will Test Adult Day Care in 2006 Print
Reuters is reporting that Medicare is looking at adult day care as a cheaper way to look after seniors. Adult day care is not covered by Medicare today, but under a three year test starting in 2006, 15,000 elderly patients will be eligable for the trial. The idea is to get patients out of hospitals and full time care into the less costly day care system. The Reuters piece claims that the Visiting Nurse Associations of America is not a fan.
