Amazon.com Product Description This ultra-sleek Men's Museum dial watch is the essence of simplicity and style. It features a perfectly round black Museum dial with slender silver-tone hands and a single concave dot at the twelve o'clock position. This is the minimalist look made famous for Movado by American designer Nathan George Horwitt in 1947. Horwitt intended his design to be evocative of a sun dial, with the dot representing the sun at high noon. The black dial is housed in an ultra-thin stainless steel case measuring 31mm wide and framed by a steel bezel with slightly elongated lugs. It presents on a sleek black calfskin strap that tapers slightly toward the ends and fastens with a stainless steel buckle closure. This watch features a scratch-resistant sapphire crystal and precise Swiss quartz movement. Water-resistant to 30 meters, it can withstand splashes and brief immersion in water; however, it is not sufficiently resistant for swimming. About Movado Movado, one of the most celebrated watch brands in the world, traces its origins to the small village of La Chaux-de-faunds, Switzerland where, in 1881, a young watchmaker named Achille Ditesheim hired six assistants and opened a small workshop. He called his company Movado, a word which means, roughly, "always in motion." The company grew and prospered, evolving from a small pocketwatch manufacturer into a leading innovator and designer of precision wristwatches. Throughout its history, Movado has maintained its place at the pinnacle of innovation and excellence in design, craftsmanship and technology. Movado watches are crafted by highly-skilled watchmakers to meet the exacting standards of Swiss time technology. They are accurate to within seconds a year. All Movado watches are sealed and protected against water, moisture and dust, and individually tested to meet strict international standards of quality. A long-time dedicated supporter of the arts, Movado has, itself, been the recipient of over 200 international awards. Movado watches can now be found in the permanent collections of over 20 museums worldwide. Museum Collection The watch dial defined by a dot at 12. Design simplicity unrivaled in the history of time-keeping. Flat dot/stick hands, or concave dot/dauphine hands. Stainless steel or gold-plated case. Fine leather strap. Swiss quartz movement. Sapphire crystal. Water resistant to 3 atm.

Beautiful, Elegant, Modern May 10, 2006 Karen Lopez - infoadvisors.com (Everywhere) 29 out of 33 found this review helpful
I've owned my Movado Moderno watch for decades. It is incredibly thin - its a shame that thinness isn't a data point listed in the product description. My watch has stood up to daily wearing and still works great.
Who would want a watch like this? Someone who enjoys wearing crisp, elegant, and design-savvy clothes. Someone who decorates their home in sleek but beautiful furnishings. Someone who always wears black. Someone who loves great watches.
...or someone who just enjoys a simple and perfect design.
Someone who really needs to see numbers on the face, or someone who likes to have highly specific times won't be happy with this watch, as there are no numerals and exact timing is impossible.
I love my Movado and you will love yours.
Great watch February 17, 2006 K. Abbey (Carlsbad, CA) 13 out of 14 found this review helpful
This watch looks great.. it isn't as big as a lot of the popular watches out there now, the face pretty slim, which is good for me because I have smaller wrists. People are surprised that it doesn't cost more, it gets a lot of compliments. The band is leather, so it isn't as durable as some other bands would be.
Just what you would expect, but a little smaller December 17, 2005 Hui Zhang 9 out of 9 found this review helpful
Right when you get the watch, it looks absolutely gorgeous. In this case, the pictures you see do NOT mislead.
Except on one part, the size is actually a bit smaller than I expected. The strap length is also not the largest. My wrists are average and I am already at the 3'rd to last notch.
I would recommend this to everyone except those with huge wrists, you might have trouble putting this on.
Awsome August 26, 2007 Michael Metzger 4 out of 4 found this review helpful
I was very excited when ordering this watch, seeing that I saw it in a Movado store for twice the price, ordered and I am now happily wearing the watch. Great condition and everything. A+
simple...like the iPod! May 9, 2006 J. Youm (Santa Clara, CA) 11 out of 14 found this review helpful
It's simple, it's uncluttered, and it's elegant. Just like the iPod. I love how the 12 o'clock orb reflects light like a silver orb.
If you need to measure microseconds, require vibrating alarms, measure heart beats and receive emails, this is not the watch for you.
I was worried for a bit that I might not be able to tell time with this, but I guessed and got the time right 5 out of 5 times (8:22, 7:50, 6:32, 5:43, 4:25) all within +/- 3 minutes, so I am all set.
