Not for typing... November 5, 2008

I was very much looking forward to getting this keyboard because I missed the number pad, the HOME, END, forward DELETE, etc. on the keyboard that came with my iMac. It really is a nice keyboard, nice touch, great option keys across the top, lightweight and portable. But the space bar just didn't respond. I'd have to type one word at a time and make it a point to press the space bar between words. TOO FRUSTRATING! If you plan on doing any amount of typing, this is definitely not the keyboard for you.

Form over function October 26, 2008
I love Apple products, and this keyboard looks great, is much less bulky,
but I have to agree with reviewers who complained about the keys.
I can't touch type as well as I used to, make frequent errors, and often
have to look at the keyboard.

Great keyboard October 26, 2008
I like this keyboard and bought it to replace the original keyboard of my 2006 iMac. I'm much more used to typing on a laptop at work, and the travel of the keys on this Apple keyboard is much more similar. I make fewer mistakes typing and feel like I can type much quicker again. I highly recommend this keyboard as a replacement of the earlier model Apple keyboards.

As an added bonus for novice Mac users, the function keys have icons to remind you which ones control the display brightness, volume, Expose, and Dashboard. My older 2006 iMac keyboard lacked such icons. For power users, this may be slightly annoying if you had set up custom function key settings, as this keyboard seems to overwrite your custom settings when you plug it in.

The Apple Aluminum Keyboard - Good Different! October 15, 2008
The Apple Aluminum Keyboard is a complete redesign of the traditional Apple Keyboard, and is shipping with all new Mac computers. The Keyboard is stylish, solid and nicely made.

I originally bout this for use with a PC mostly because of its compact size. I later bought a Mac Pro which came with the traditional Apple Keyboard.

Here's what I've noticed about the Apple Aluminum Keyboard:

1- Apple changed the layout of the keys. This might annoy users of traditional Apple Keyboards.

2- The keyboard is well made with good "Feel". However, there are no adjustments for height or angle. As a result I had to reposition my keyboard shelf upwards for comfortable typing.

3- This keyboard works with a PC but most of the Apple specific keys are unsupported. The Cloverleaf key works as the "Windows Logo" key.

As with any keyboard you should try one out before you buy one. I like mine a lot but sometimes switch back to the traditional Apple keyboard.
